The arena, part 1.5

The shield groaned under the force of the battlehammer that just got slammed into it. A flash of pain shot through Oswell's arm, but fortunately the shield managed to withstand the blow. He struck quickly, a fierce stab into the vulnerable area beneath the Mouse's arm. The Mouse attempted to parry the thrust, but was only partly successful. The tip of Oswell's blade had punctured the Mouse's skin, and even though it was just a small wound, it still hurt the Mouse. He staggered backwards and tried

A shiver ran down Oswell's spine as he beheld the Arena. He had often dreamed about this, but the Arena in his dreams could not hold a candle to its real life counterpart; it was much bigger than he had ever imagined. The large room was shrouded in darkness. Placed along the walls were lamps that emitted a faint light. He knew those lamps existed: they were fuelled by an invisible force called 'electricity'. It was said that a long time ago, all lamps were fuelled by electricity, but he had never seen one that worked. In the middle of the hall was a large table, scattered upon which were a number of maps. One of those maps showed T47, a large green area. The other maps, however, seemed odd. Some showed multiple

The world is not a nice place. Of course, some old stories have kids playing on the streets, food for everyone and even houses with pools in the garden. None of those things are here anymore, if they ever were. As far as I can see it the world always has been a terrible place. Only the strong can permit some luxury, until someone else appears to be stronger. It is in this though world we live in today. History is all around us and although everything is broken and abandoned, its legacy has not
