"It's fairly heavily modified, so the whole of the lighting model has changed, and that makes a huge difference to everything. It's not completely, 100 per cent new - it's not like we threw it away and started again. But it's a pretty radical upgrade."

I just seriously hope they are building a new engine to base this on and stop using the fucking WARSCAPE engine - the bane of every modder's existence.
not strictly a new engine then, so that may indicate similar modding restrictions to previous titles

TBH, I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it if it's not easy to mod. Look at all the mods that made the first Rome great. The Vanilla game wasn't really that amazing, except BI, I had a lot of time for that.

It's a shame that they refuse to help the modding community. I've played shogun 2, It's a shadow of the great Med2, and Rome. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I brought it. But where are the great mods that should be making me play currently?

I didn't buy Empire or Napoleon either, because I didn't have faith in their abilities. I still haven't because there appear to be no great mods for the games...

This just makes me upset a little, I don't want any of these games they are making. Unless Rome 2, looks utterly awesome. I'm going to be hesitant to get it for these reasons. We haven't actually seen any Game play or Designs just yet. Anything could happen...

Talk like this, just makes me fire up Med2 for a few hours...

EB was amazing! Although it's diplomacy I felt was badly scripted because a faction would declare war on you depending on what territories you own.

Go on your own and 'double drop' 2 ecstacy tablets. Guarantee you'll leave there with 5 new best buds and a well bangable chick.

Do you remember a promo video that was out when Rome was announced? It looked uber. A fight between romans and gauls, finishing with the roman legionnaire killing a man with his gladius or something, with a camera close up on his face. Must be somewhere on youtube I guess..

Think about what graphics we had seen in Medieval 1, and what a great leap forward this trailer was. Now it looks so pathetic! *greenface*
