I annihilate the Oda army that attacks me, using a defensive hill position (I don’t trust my army to survive any flat terrain). I exterminate 691 out of 750 enemies, while losing 164 out of 591 men (music listened to: „magic potion“ by The Open Mind; apparently, a copy of this psychedelia original nowadays fetches 500 pounds). My general gains a rank: I pick a meijin (+1 on land attacks), and the usual two starting items on the generals tree.

So, I have to try and think like Tokugawa would do. I have found, particularly with Shogun 2, that it really helps to emulate the personality of your faction. This works much better than in previous titles, which is one of the reasons why this game is so good.

I figure, well, I could send my Metsuke to the Oda army that is threatening my territory right from the start. I click – blimey 73% probability to succeed, but also a hefty 1200 credits. I go for it. And subito presto: all but ...

So, I have decided - for the moment - to ditch my Chokosabe VH campaign, because I need to think things over.

That gives me the opportunity to attempt a Hard Tokugawa campaign. This should be interesting.

Tokugawa are an extraordinary clan for several reasons: They are good at diplomacy, metsukes and ninjas, but little else. So, all your field units have to earn their salary. Tokugawa is a vassal. Bummer. That means, you can not declare war. As long as you are vassal, ...

After I have finished my present very hard chosokabe campaign, I believe I would try a blog of another campaign. I invite suggestions on which faction I should use.

If it were to be removed it would be bad but i think i could do without since there is always arma for lonley and boring moments :P
