The Arts Contest Revisited, Discussion

Hello everyone! In another thread I asked whether people were up for some good ol' photoshop contests, and apparently they were. So let's try and get things started, shall we?


First off, let's make the rules and entry times a bit more flexible this time around. In the previous contest, you would only have a very short time to make an entry. I'm thinking let's make it about a week (instead of the approx. 3 days it was earlier).

I'll think of a theme for the first contest tomorrow, and I'll post the first contest thread tomorrow night. All rules will be explained in the theme thread. This thread will be used for discussion, help, general announcements and so forth. I may also edit the first post to contain a 'hall of fame' which will display all entries, with the winning entries at the top.

Most of the rules worked fairly well last time, I think keeping it pretty open asides from stating the theme and size is best.

As for themes I'm terrible at thinking of ideas, so I'll let you pick the first one. Maybe after a contest or two I'll get some inspiration!

I'll think it through at work today, I want to have a good opener so we can kick off with a nice contest. If both yourself and Porky participate we will have at least 3 entries, which will make for plenty of choice. I do hope some other people enter as well though.

Some themes off the top of my head:

-battlefield 3
-WW2 (Red Orchestra?)
-Japanese themed/samurai
-the movies
-...?


Oh, and NO entering older works. They need to be made specifically for the contest.

A Japanese/Samurai one would be Nice.

Red Orchestra would be no good for me seeing as I haven't played it, but I could do a general WW2 one

Let's pick a theme tomorrow. Tomorrow is Sunday, the last day of the week and an excellent day to have the beginning and end of a photoshop contest.

How about we make our first contest's theme 'The Naked Fanatics'? Sounds kinda awesome to me.
