No ingame squad system?! Add your voice!

Quoted my own post from the BF3 forums as I really think this is what happened:

They said that "research indicated people didn't want a squad system'.


I really wonder how they came up with that, and I think I know now!



They probably had a questionairre after BC2, and they asked people:

"Do you like the squad system in BC2?"

A:yes
B:no

Everyone said "No", because they liked the BF2/2142 system better and wanted that back. DICE, however, misinterpreted it to mean that people didn't want a squad management system at all!


This is the only way I can imagine their research showing people don't want a squad management function in-game.

Yeah I was there briefly at the end. It all sounded kind of scripted, their questions were inane and not really interesting.

2500 has voted yes. Thats pretty good I think if you consider that not all players visit the forum. And theres not that many beta players compared to what the amount of players will be at release.

Since the Open BETA we’ve added more advanced functionality to manage your squad. You will be able to browse and join specific squads through the squad screen. You can see all players that are in a specific squad as well as who’s playing as lone wolf. As a squad leader you can set your squad to private as well as kick players from the squad.

My decision to buy battlefield 3 is hanging completely on the squad play... Otherwise, Its just gonna be like Modern Warfare except slightly worse and with vehicles

Hell no, not worse, but for sure a downer for me. (I'm still massively turned off by MW's Multiplay havn't bought a title from them ever again.. last I bought from them was World at War)
