Well the latest one I played was Attila and that was pretty amazing. Haven't tried any of the newer ones though. I was put off by Warhammer being restricted in terms of its campaign but recently, after watching a few videos I've been tempted to get it. Probably will at some point. Other than that I been playing Total War Arena which is a rather good way to scratch that itch if you only have half an hour.
Never take life seriously, nobody gets out alive anyway.
I've not played Brittania, I did spend a bit of time with Total Warhammer. I really enjoyed it, it's the perfect setting for a total war game and CA really nailed the aesthetic and the faction variety. I also think they did quite a good job of implementing all the massive and flying units and hero figures. I always felt like it had pacing issues though (that late game grind where you end up mashing the end turn button) and that it lacked depth in some areas like the tech trees and hero abilities (which i also felt were too micro management heavy).
That being said, it's still a very good Total War game and I've heard nothing but good things about Total Warhammer 2 as well.
Haven't really played any of the others though, Rome 2 kind of killed my love for the historical TW games. Shogun 2 is still the best in my opinion. Would be interested in checking out Brittania though. Which games have you been playing Draal?
This is where my Sig would be, if it worked...
I've been on the Xbox on and off. Mass Effect Andromeda, Witcher III, Skyrim.
Haven't bought a new PC title in years.
I'm in between jobs, spending a lot of time looking for a new position. Been hiking with my dog a fair bit. I have a fair bit of time on my hands to get into some new activities like gaming again.
The last TW game I've played is Attila I believe. That was pretty good for a while. I find I can't really put in the time like I used to be able to for TW games though.
Since that I have played some other games (Dishonored 2, Final Fantasy 15 and of course some games on the Switch, most notably the new Zelda, which is pretty awesome )
Ancient Empires beta for Attila came out yesterday. Basically a R2TW EB remake ported to Attila. Some updates for R2TW have come out as well. They are kinda using it as a test bed for other titles i think.
Warhammer is worth it I think. factions are pretty different to add replayability each with interesting mechanics and with the mortal empire map (combines both games and will include the third as well i think) its got some size to it now. I'd try and find a cheapy bundle and give it a shot.
Brittania is a mix up. its smaller, a bit too easy to steamroll with an annoying constant invasion mechanic as well as being very 'streamlined' but... its atmosphere is great, the map is beautiful and they've mixed up the mechanics a bit and played around a bit with some things. Decent but I wouldn't pay more than 15 quid for it now. 20 quid on release.
Conversely I struggle to try new games. Titanfall 2 and Xcom 2 have been brief infatuations and I have the Witcher 3 looking at me pleadingly still to crack it open but I'm a commitment phobe and that thing is marriage material.
And yeah time. Girlfriend and Job are taking up what TW doesn't suck up.
